PrimisPro Insights Design the data-center handover before the build starts. Define IT design, facilities interfaces, acceptance and operational ownership for a greenfield project. Separate IT scope from facility engineering Greenfield projects connect compute, storage, network and security with building services. Record responsibility boundaries for civil works, power, cooling, physical protection and specialist engineering. Qualified facility design or certification must be assigned explicitly. An IT architecture engagement does not establish a facility rating or authorize specialist engineering sign-off. Translate workload needs into design assumptions Identify workloads, connectivity, growth assumptions and operational priorities. Design decisions should trace to these needs. Keep capacity assumptions and resilience choices available for review. Supplier availability, site interfaces, operating skills and migration of existing services can change a design. Confirm these constraints before treating deployment sequencing as final. Integrate security through deployment Plan management access, network separation, identities, logging and configuration ownership alongside infrastructure. Define approved baselines and evidence of the deployed environment. Acceptance should consider the connected environment, not only whether devices power on. Agree permitted validation activities and responsibility for interpreting results. Make acceptance observable State what the receiving team will inspect, what record it retains and who approves acceptance. Record exceptions rather than hiding them in a broad complete status. Deployment acceptance, performance validation, recovery exercises and independent facility certification have different purposes and scopes. Prepare the operating team Handover as-built diagrams, asset records, runbooks, support interfaces and training. Name who maintains these records after the project. Use an open-action register for remaining work. A clear transition helps the organization understand its environment and responsibilities.
