PrimisPro Insights Audit readiness starts with evidence ownership. Connect scope, control questions, evidence and remediation before an independent review. Define the boundary before requesting evidence Begin with the business service, systems, locations and responsibilities under consideration. A collection of policies is difficult to evaluate when nobody can explain which environment those policies cover. Record the proposed boundary and the assumptions that still need confirmation. Ask who operates each service, where information moves, which suppliers participate and which obligations are being considered. Treat framework applicability as a qualified review question. A readiness exercise is not an independent audit opinion or a certification decision. Translate a control into a testable question A broad statement such as “access is reviewed” hides important details. Identify which identities are reviewed, who approves changes, how exceptions are tracked and what period the evidence covers. Agree the question before selecting the record that may answer it. Keep a control owner, evidence owner, reviewer and next action alongside each request. This avoids treating the person uploading a file as the person accountable for operating the control. Separate documentation from operation A written process explains intended behavior. Operational evidence shows what happened in the agreed environment and period. An approved access policy and a completed access-review record answer different questions. Use a controlled register with identifiers, periods, owners and review notes. Store sensitive material in an approved organization-scoped repository. A public website or demonstration dashboard is not a place to upload customer evidence. Make exceptions visible A missing record, an incomplete review and a control that has not been implemented require different responses. Describe the observation, its scope, the evidence reviewed and the limitation. Avoid broad conclusions from a single sample. Assign remediation ownership and an acceptance criterion. A finding should explain what would demonstrate improvement, not merely request that an issue be closed. Confirm independent reviewer expectations where they affect the evidence plan. Prepare a handover that survives the meeting Finish with a scope statement, control-and-evidence register, open questions and a prioritized action plan. Make dependencies and decision owners explicit. An executive summary should explain uncertainty as clearly as progress. Use our fictional sample report to discuss the shape of the deliverable. Its records illustrate presentation and accountability rather than assessment results for an actual organization. References NIST Cybersecurity Framework: https://www.nist.gov/cyberframework
